Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the Distinguished Chair in Psychology at the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. The university is widely acknowledged for developing the first modern-day investigation of the scientific study of children's eyeswitness memory as well as child victims' witnesses in legal contexts. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer and has been awarded numerous prizes and grants. Her work has been with numerous organisations and governments throughout the world in research and guidelines pertaining to child victims of the legal system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She has memberships with numerous professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is an active part of Psychonomics Society, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding Member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the President of the American Psychological Association's three divisions: Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Family and Child the Practice and Policy.
